The energy shifts the moment you walk through the doors. While day one is all about getting settled, WordCamp Asia Day 2 is where the real magic happens. I started my morning the only right way—with a strong cup of coffee in hand, ready to dive into the core of the event.
Let’s break down exactly what makes this day so special, the incredible people I met, and why attending these events can completely transform your career.
The Global Crowd: 3x Bigger and Better
The sheer volume of attendees today was staggering. The halls were packed with a crowd almost three times larger than yesterday. But it wasn’t just about the numbers; it was about the incredible diversity.
I had the chance to speak with people who traveled from all corners of the globe: India, Nepal, Bhutan, Australia, Japan, Italy, Lithuania, and More
Hearing their unique perspectives on the tech industry, their experiences in India, and how they use WordPress in their local markets was an eye-opening experience. It’s a reminder that the WordPress community is truly a global village.
Exploring the Sponsor Booths & Meeting
One of the major highlights of the day was diving into the sponsor area. Dozens of companies set up booths to showcase their latest products, and there’s always something new to learn (and, of course, some amazing swag and goodies to collect!).
What you can gain from visiting sponsor booths:
- Face-to-Face Support: Discussing technical roadblocks directly with the creators.
- Product Demos: Discovering tools you never knew existed.
- Direct Feedback: Sharing your user experience to help shape future updates.
Connecting with Automattic & Jetpack Contributors
I had an invaluable conversation with a core contributor to Jetpack from Automattic (the company behind WordPress.com). Meeting the people who actively build the infrastructure millions of websites rely on is nothing short of inspiring.
We discussed real-world challenges, such as how to handle massive traffic spikes and manage huge crowds on high-traffic websites. Getting insights straight from the source gave me actionable strategies I can’t wait to implement.
Why WordCamp is an Amazing Investment of Your Time
If you are on the fence about attending a future WordCamp, let me tell you why this experience is unmatched. It is vastly superior to simply reading documentation or watching tutorials online.
- Unmatched Knowledge Sharing: The breakout rooms feature industry leaders diving deep into hyper-specific topics. You learn strategies that aren’t shared anywhere else.
- Making Meaningful Friendships: Networking isn’t just about business cards; it’s about making genuine friends who understand your daily tech struggles.
- Accelerated Growth: The collaborative environment pushes you out of your comfort zone and exposes you to innovative solutions.
Actionable Tips for Conquering WordCamp
- Pace Yourself: With the crowd being so massive, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Take breaks, stay hydrated, and don’t try to attend every single talk.
- Prepare Your Questions: When approaching booths like Hostinger or chatting with Automattic reps, have specific questions ready. You will get much better insights.
- Follow Up: Connect with the new friends you make on LinkedIn or X (Twitter) the same day while the conversation is still fresh in your mind.

Wrapping Up the Day
Between the global connections, the deep-dive conversations with Automattic contributors, and the sheer energy of the crowd, today was a massive success. Taking the time to step away from the screen and engage with the community in real life brings a fresh perspective to everything we do online.
I’m already looking forward to tomorrow. The connections made during WordCamp Asia Day 2 are the kind that will last a lifetime and push my business to the next level!
